Chicago Police Want Covert Cameras
on Yesterday by NW0.eu in Police State, Comments (0)
From Aaron Cynic at Chicagoist::
The familiar blinking blue light cameras that dot many city streets could get smaller soon, according to an article by the Chicago Tribune. The Tribune reported yesterday that the Chicago Police are considering employing smaller, covert cameras in the hope of further combating crime. According to the article, these cameras could be as small as a thimble. Last month, Police Superintendent Jody Weis said in an interview with WLS, “These can be secreted in locations that nobody would ever detect. It’s amazing where we’re going with technology.” While some may marvel at the applications of such cloak and dagger spy technology, the idea of both overt and covert cameras blanketing the city raises some very serious privacy concerns. Spokesperson for the Illinois ACLU Ed Yohnka said “…there’s…

Sneaky Anti-Terrorist Cameras to be Used in War on Motorists
on by NW0.eu in Police State, Comments (0)

‘Councils routinely use Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology to clamp down on parking offences, they claim. The device scans 3,000 vehicles an hour and cross-checks in seconds with police, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency and insurance databases. This allows parking tickets to be issued by computer.
Minister for Security and Counter-Terrorism Lord West said the technology is for fighting serious crime. In a parliamentary written answer, he told how it is “used by police forces for intelligence-led policing and investigative purposes”.
Shadow Communities Minister Stewart Jackson said councils are using “spy technology” to penalise motorists for “minor breaches” of parking rules. “This is yet another sign of the march of the town hall Stasi under Labour,” he said.’

The National Worker ID Card as an Evil Instrument of Control
on by NW0.eu in Police State, Comments (0)
‘Once a card is instituted into the system, card creep will begin. It will begin to be used for other purposes. First, what they will do is mark the easy ones, sex offenders and those found guilty of domestic violence. Then they’ll do those who have a DUI charge. Then they’ll do those who are charged with hate speech. Then they’ll mark the cards of those who have been arrested for protesting. Then it will be those who have managed their employees in an “abusive” manner.
If you are a sex offender (and in many states this is broadly defined to include hookers), you will not be able to live in a neighborhood where there is any type of activities for children, regardless of how small the group and how well chaperoned. Which means you will end up in the dead end part of town. Try to turn your life around after getting marked like this, forget about it. You will be on the street as a hooker, until you die.’

Citizen’s Arrest of Alleged War Criminal George W. Bush in Canada
on by NW0.eu in Police State, Comments (0)

‘Splitting the Sky, indigenous activist, seized by security forces in Canada last year when he attempted to make a citizen’s arrest of George W. Bush will have his day in court on Monday, March 8th. According to Professor Anthony J. Hall, this case will demonstrate whether Canada is ruled by law or fear and highlight the need for new principles, the Calgary Principles to amend the victor’s justice of the Nuremberg Principles, in light of the new impunities for high level crimes against humanity and the Earth in this era, and the need to protect and honor civil resistance to those high crimes.’

Mississippi School Prom Off After Lesbian’s Date Request
on by NW0.eu in Police State, Comments (0)
From Yahoo News:
Constance McMillen didn’t believe her Mississippi school district would really call off her senior prom rather than allow her to show up with her girlfriend and wear a tuxedo. On Thursday, a day after the Itawamba County school board did just that, the 18-year-old lesbian high school senior reluctantly returned to campus to some unfriendly looks, she said.
“Somebody said, ‘Thanks for ruining my senior year.’” McMillen said.
The district announced Wednesday it wouldn’t host the April 2 prom. The decision came after the American Civil Liberties Union demanded that officials change a policy banning same-sex prom dates because it violated students’ rights. And the ACLU said the district not letting McMillen wear a tuxedo violated her free expression rights.

US Military Trains To Clear ‘Civilian’ Homes (Kill All Inside)
on by NW0.eu in Police State, Comments (0)

‘The psychology of war teaches that before an American soldier can kill a perfect stranger, a non-combatant – the first thing you do is dehumanize that person into a faceless ‘thing.’
Now devoid of all those qualities we cherish in ourselves, the US soldier does not have to deal with the dictates of his conscience when murdering a civilian in cold blood. Thus we find the use of dehumanizing terms: “hostiles” -”insurgents” – “extremists” – “terrorists”.’
